Imagine if your attitude could literally change your biology. It might sound far-fetched, but emerging fields of science are proving exactly that — that the way we think and feel can transform our health at the deepest cellular level.
Psychoneuroimmunology (PNI – the study of how the mind, nervous system, and immune system interact), over the last 40 years, has been giving us valuable information about what is the most important factor in health, longevity and overcoming dis-ease, and that is ATTITUDE. Because it is the way we respond to events that happen in our lives, thoughts and emotions that dictate our eating habits, how effective is our digestion and assimilation of food and, essentially, the function of every cell in our body.
Whether we do it consciously or subconsciously, the negative attitudes which we promote are the projection of the low-frequency thoughts and emotions we have been having and giving our energy to. And this happens when there is a misunderstanding about the world around us or ourselves because this world is governed by universal laws which apply to everybody no matter if we’re aware of them or not.

Our thoughts have the ability to control all cells in our bodies…
But understanding the theory is one thing and dealing with the emotions is another.
At Ananda, we understand the importance of mental and emotional wellbeing in achieving overall health, that is why, whether you choose to follow the 3.5, 7.5, 11 or 28 days detox program, you will be given emotional support during your detox journey.
During your detox you have readily available energy to focus on releasing emotional blockages. And remember that every emotion has a message for you. Below are some examples of the way suppressed emotions show up in our bodies. (Obviously there’s no one size fits all so take this as a guide)
DEPRESSION – Hidden Anger
ANXIETY – A Wake Up to Your Needs
JEALOUSY – What You Want
RESENTMENT – Violated Boundaries
BITTERNESS – Withholding Forgiveness
ANGER – It’s Time to Make a Change
SHAME – Letting Others Define Who You Should Be
Releasing trapped emotions through colemas:
Emotions get trapped in our cells but when we fast or detoxify, the weak or dead emotion-carrying cells are being released more rapidly from the body. And most of the emotions are stored in the mucoid plaque that is in our gut than in any other part of the body. That is why giving your digestive system a break from any solid food and having daily colemas while you cleanse are essential for releasing the dry toxic material in the colon and one might experience emotional transformation.

Every detox program at Ananda includes a daily Colema, with an optional second session. A Colema is a self-administered colon hydrotherapy procedure much like an enema, only deeper, with up to 20 liters of water going into the colon. And don’t worry! If you think 20 liters is too much you will be relieved to hear that our colon can hold up to 60 liters of water, making this a thorough way to cleanse the colon (large intestine) and remove internal impurities in a powerful yet safe manner.
You can read more about the different types of colemas we have here at Ananda in this blog post.
Bacteria, virus, fungi and toxins affect NOT ONLY our immune system but ALSO our nervous system!
And because mental imbalances are caused by foreign organisms that might have been living rent free in your body, you might choose to add, alongside your detox program, a detox for parasites, for eliminating candida or follow the liver protocol. Or why not all three?!
Why do the detox for parasites?
Parasites in the gut can affect mental health through systemic inflammation, direct brain invasion, and by disrupting neurotransmitter pathways. They release toxins into the bloodstream that can cause physical and mental symptoms, such as mood changes, anxiety, and sleep irregularities.
You can read more about our parasite cleanse here.
Why do the detox for candida?
Candida overgrowth is linked to mental health issues, potentially through increased inflammation, disruption of neurotransmitter production, and impact on the gut-brain axis. Research suggests a correlation between candida overgrowth and conditions like depression, anxiety, and brain fog.
You can read more about candida’s role in our gut in one of our previous blog post.
Why do the liver protocol?
An unhealthy liver negatively impacts mental health by causing hepatic encephalopathy, a condition where toxins build up in the blood and reach the brain, leading to confusion, mood changes, and cognitive issues. Adding the liver protocol to this (already) powerful program amplifies its benefits.
You can read more about the benefits of a liver cleanse in our blog post.
Lastly, in order to balance your nervous system, you can opt for an oil or Thai massage and indulge in the detoxifying herbal steam, both promoting deep relaxation.
