A 30-hour Teacher Development Program

Join our transformative 30-hour yoga teacher development program designed to elevate your teaching journey. Each day begins with 2 hours of invigorating morning practice, allowing you to challenge and grow your skills on the mat. Following this, partake in a 3-hour mid-morning workshop focused on refining your teaching techniques. Engage in reviewing adjustments, developing varied sequencing, and receiving constructive feedback on your classes.This program offers you the unique opportunity to grow within a supportive community of fellow yoga teachers, fostering collaboration and sharing of insights. Together, we will explore new techniques and deepen our practices, equipping you with the tools needed to inspire your students and elevate their yoga experience.

PROGRAM DETAILS

 

  1. Morning Practice: Each day begins with a 2-hour morning practice to enhance your skills and energize your day.

  2. Healthy Breakfast: Enjoy a fruit-filled buffet breakfast to nourish your body before workshops and activities.

  3. Use of Facilities: Participants have full access to various facilities, including yoga spaces and wellness amenities.

  4. Workshops: Engage in workshops focused on refining your teaching methods, developing sequencing, and receiving constructive feedback.

  5. Vegetarian Lunch: A wholesome vegetarian lunch is provided to keep you energized throughout the program.

  6. Wellness Amenities: Facilities like the pool, steam bath, and ice bath are available for relaxation and recovery.

  7. Yin Classes: Join daily yin classes at 4:30 PM to explore restorative practices and balance your training.

  8. All-Inclusive Experience: The program is designed to provide everything you need, allowing you to fully focus on your development as a teacher.

  2. Daily Practice Clinics and Workshops: Participate in daily practice clinics and workshops that enhance your teaching skills and deepen your understanding of Ashtanga techniques.

  3. Philosophical Exploration: Delve into the philosophical concepts that underpin yoga, enriching your teaching with foundational insights that inform practice.

  4. Understanding Teaching Methods: Study effective teaching methodologies and their practical applications, including the use of Sanskrit terms relevant to yoga instruction.

  5. Holistic Approach to Well-Being: Explore how yoga can support personal wellness, including discussions on self-care, self-healing, and how the Ashtanga practice can adapt to life’s changes.

  6. Integration of Yoga Lifestyle: Learn how to embody and teach the holistic aspects of the yoga lifestyle, integrating principles beyond the mat into daily life.

  • All instruction in English so you must be able to speak and read English at conversational level
  • You must be able to participate in a group learning experience and be willing to accept and provide feedback in an objective and constructive way.
  • Some yoga and yoga teaching experience is necessary but you do not have to be advanced.
  • To receive 30-hours of Yoga Alliance approved professional development credits you must have 200-hour Yoga teaching certification currently registered with Yoga Alliance

Opening Sunday:

Check-in at 2 pm. Opening session and orientation dinner at 5 pm.

Program Graduation final Saturday.

Check out at 11 am on the final Sunday.

Over the 35 years of her ashtanga practice Valerie has studied with such luminaries as Sri K. Pattabhi Jois, R. Sharath Jois, John Scott, Graeme Northfield, Tim Miller, Dave Oliver, Eddie Stern, Lino Miele, Richard Freeman, and many many others. In addition to 15 plus trips to India to study within this traditional form she is well versed in contemporary yoga practices and anatomy and very interested in the role of yoga in  developing sustainable and long term strength, especially for aging bodies.  Known for developing systematic and student-focused curriculums she will help you refine your practice and renew and develop your teaching skills.
